Students will gain demonstrated skills of the following knowledge:
- Q6 Performance Leadership Model, where students learn to identify the various persons being led and how to vary their leadership styles depending on the individual being led and the task being accomplished. Students learn to Coach, Guide, Mentor, Encourage, Listen and Collaborate with those being led to create the highest level of performance in completing a job with the highest professionalism.
- The Leadership Test, i.e., Am I doing the Right Thing, at the Right Time, in the Right Way and for the Right Reason. (© Gallagher Westfall Group.)
- The Belief System, understanding an Individuals’ Beliefs drive their Behaviors and Performances.
- The DiSC©, personality assessment to demonstrate to the students they have different leadership styles and how to use those styles to create success with persons of differing personalities.
- Conflict Management, the student learns the different types of conflict and how to manage, control, and when possible avoid conflict.
- Working Together You Can Accomplish Anything, a guide for success in teamwork and leadership.
- Ethical Decision Making, where the student will review the accountability for, and the principles, values, and integrity of, the choices they make concerning other individuals and organizations.
- Social and News Media, the benefits, dangers and how it impacts ones’ view of the world and of course, how to stay out of trouble when using it.
- Mentorship – how to support and coach others as well as how to choose specific mentors for their own lives. Students learn the importance of seeking new mentors throughout their lifetime.
- The Individuals’ Role in Society and Government, reviews the civic responsibilities of leadership in respect to the communities they live in.
- Understanding Substance Abuse - A Youth's Guide, provides the student with an awareness of the common illegal drugs and harmful substances in use today and how prevent themselves from becoming a victim of any substance use disorder.
- Managing Stress: A Personal Guide for Teens, is presented along with a worksheet to formulate plans to reduce the stress young people have in their personal lives.
During the week of instruction, each student will be required to complete a short paper entitled,
